Defence Institute of Advanced Technology is an autonomous Institution, fully funded by the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence, established with the objective of imparting Post Graduate Education in Engineering and Applied Sciences on thrust area relevant to Defence, Industries, R&D and also to conduct research in the Core areas of Defence Technologies.

In addition to admitting Serving Officers of the Indian Armed forces, DRDO, DPSUs, Government Departments/ Institutions, a number of seats in various disciplines are offered to civilian candidates with scholarship.

DIAT invites applications for the Ph.D. programme in Engineering and Applied Sciences Departments. Details of Branches / Programmes and other terms and conditions are available at www.diat.ac.in or www.diatonline.co.in.

Aspiring candidates may apply online for admission by 22 April 2016 (Friday). Hard copy of the online application alongwith relevant documents must reach to Joint Registrar (Academics), DIAT (DU) Girinagar, Pune-411025 latest by 1730 hours on 29 April 2016 (Friday).

Master of Technology (M.Tech):

Admission to the M. Tech programme shall be made directly based on GATE score. Candidates are required to submit separate applications for each specialization. Admission to a specialization shall be made based on separate GATE discipline wise merit list. DIAT reserves the right to offer the specialization on given M Tech programme.

Candidates under non-MoD sponsored category (DPSUs/Industry) will be admitted through his/her employer and subject to meeting the additional conditions specified below, through a separate selection committee appointed specifically for the purpose. Such sponsored candidate must be in service of the sponsoring organization. The sponsoring organization must specifically undertake to provide full salary to the candidate and to relieve him/her to pursue the programme for its full duration. Sponsored candidates are exempted from qualifying GATE requirement and there is no age limit.

Qualification: Candidates who are desirous to join the above mentioned M. Tech Programmes in DIAT must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master's degree in Science as applicable to the programme@ with 55% aggregate marks/5.5 CGPA and valid GATE score.

Age Limit: Not more than 26 years as on 01 July 2016. Relaxations as per GOI rules.

Master of Technology (M.Tech):

DIAT follows the reservation policy of Govt. of India as applicable to Higher Educational Institutions for reservation of seats for SC, ST, OBC and PWD candidates.

Master of Technology (M.Tech):

Scholarship Category students are eligible for applying for Scholarship (Rs. 12,400/- per month) under DBT scheme of AICTE, during the M. Tech Course, subject to attendance. No financial support will be available from DIAT (DU), Pune.

Master of Technology (M.Tech):

Accommodation and mess facilities are available in the POINTS Hostel on payment basis. However, due to very limited rooms in POINTS Hostel, it may or may not be possible to provide POINTS Hostel accommodation to all the students. The present monthly charges towards boarding and lodging is approximately Rs.7000/- (subject to revision). A security deposit of Rs. 20,000/- would need to be paid to Hostel office.

Master of Technology (M.Tech):

Interested candidates under Scholarship Category should apply ONLINE only. The application fee for each program (specialisation) is Rs 500/- for General Category and Rs. 250/- for women and reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD) candidates. The application fee can be paid online or by Demand Draft drawn in favour of Vice Chancellor, DIAT, payable at Pune. The application fee is non-refundable.
